Catherine Lipscomb

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Catherine Lipscomb of 331 Parkway Dr. Yanceyville, NC who passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the Beacon Place Hospice in Greensboro, NC.

Catherine, affectionately known as Cat or Ms. Kitty Cat was born in Yanceyville, NC on September 16, 1943. She was a graduate of Caswell County High School and later furthered her education at Piedmont Community College. Catherine retired from Caswell County Schools but continued to work for Hunt Janitorial Services. Inc. Her passion was Design and Organization and she later started her own cleaning service known as Brand New.   
 She was a member of High Rock Baptist Church and remained a faithful steward until her death. Catherine was a sweet, gentle and independent woman with a huge sense of humor. She dedicated her life to her family and loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart.  
Catherine was married to Bobby Lewis Lipscomb, Sr. who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her Mother, Emma Garland Lipscomb Chandler, Her father, James Lipscomb Sr., her step-father, Hubert Chandler, her brother, James Lipscomb and her sister, Dorothy Mae Lipscomb.  
Catherine, leaves to cherish her memory: son, Bobby Lewis Lipscomb, Jr. (Robin), Chesterfield, VA., daughter, Teresa Lipscomb-Burney (Rahsul), Greensboro, NC., brother, Thomas Lipscomb, Durham, NC., grandchildren, Teal Lipscomb James (Sylvester), South Korea, Tristan Jorel Lipscomb (Dominique), Chesterfield, VA. Caitlyn Victoria Woods, Greensboro, NC. Cremel Nakia Burney (Elizabeth), Columbus, GA.,  Dominique Myles Burney, Greensboro, NC. Three great-grand daughters, Kyoko James, Kyomi James and London Lipscomb. Special Cousin, LaToya Totten. Brother In-Law, Lloyd Lipscomb, Sisters In-Law, Jane Slade and Ruth Lea all of Yanceyville, NC.  Daughter In-Law, Vanessa Mayo (Greg), Chesterfield, VA. Four Special Goddaughters, Valerie Russell, Yanceyville, NC., Sonya Hardison Gwynn, Tajuana Hardison Parker, Greensboro, NC., and Marion Farrar Dalgleish, Wilmington, NC.  Special Friends, Brenda Mangum, William and Patricia Lea, William Hunt and Dexter Hunt. Frank and Betty Graves, Three nieces, two nephews and a host of family and friends.
