Ida Lucille (Evans) Hightower

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Ida Lucille Evans Hightower of 583 Main St. Yanceyville, NC, who passed away Wednesday,  June 26, 2019  in the Hospice Home of Alamance/ Caswell in Burlington, NC.

She was a native of Caswell County, NC the daughter of the late Weldon Evans and Ann Bell Walker Evans, born May 29, 1926. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where she was mother of the church.

She was a homemaker.

She was married to Charlie Hightower who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Edgar, Cornelius, Herman, Hunter and Raymond Evans. one sister, Barbara Daniels.

Her survivors are three sons, Winfred Evans ( Linda ) of Mebane, NC, Charles Hightower of Yanceyville, NC and Ronald Hightower of Burlington, NC; three daughters, Brenda Jones and Linda Hightower both of Yanceyville, NC and Sharon Hightower of Burlington, NC; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren;  one brother, Roy Evans of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Hattie Pearl Johnson of Burlington, NC; sister-in-law, Christine Evans of Yanceyville, NC;  brother-in- law, Oscar Daniels of Baltimore, Md.; special nephew, Dennis Johnson; her caretakers, Bertha Richmond, Christi  Powell, Leelee Brown and June Covington; nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends.
