Shirley Stephens Fitzgerald

Blanch, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Shirley Stephens Fitzgerald of 1335 Long Mill Rd. Blanch, NC, who passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Person Memorial Hospital, Roxboro, NC.

She was a native of Java, Va., the daughter of the late Tom Stephens and Lena Barber Stephens, born October 16, 1934. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and was a employee of Dan River Mills before retirement.

She was married to Jessie Fitzgerald who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by five brothers,  Newglen, George, Wilbert, Narl and Tommy Stephens; five sisters, Lois Downs, Mamie Pierce, Mary Wilcox and Melissa Stephens Swann.

Her survivors are one daughter, Janet Lee of Blanch, NC; four sons, Larry Stephens ( Mae ) of Blanch, NC, Don Fitzgerald ( Lady ) Milton, NC, James Fitzgerald ( Abbie ) of Danville, Va., and Anthony Fitzgerald ( Marketta ) of Providence, NC; one sister, Frances Massey ( Willie ) of Gatewood, NC; twelve grand children; nineteen great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
