Adeline (Southern) Mitchell

Blanch, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Adeline Southern Lipscomb Mitchell of 3866 Slade Rd. Blanch, NC, who passed Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the Brian Center Nursing Home.

She was a native of Caswell County, NC the daughter of the late Will Southern and Ellen Lea Southern, born January 23, 1932. She was a member of Hamer Baptist Church, where she was a usher, Deaconess, a missionary and a choir member.

She worked at Hanover Mills and she was a CNA in Roxboro  before retirement.

She was married to James Frank Lipscomb and Pete Mitchell,  both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Mae Lipscomb; five brothers; and three sisters.

Her survivors are two sisters, Naomi Watlington of Yanceyville, NC and Min. Juanita Brim ( Willie ) of Milton, NC; one brother, Willie Lee Southern of Alexander, Va.; adopted niece, Janie Stephens; sister-in-law, Dorene Southern; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 pm in the chapel of Fulton Funeral Home.
