Ruffin, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Alice Evelyn Gwynn Brown of 72 Strader Rd., Ruffin, NC, who passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late James Albert Gwynn, and Alice Jones Gwynn, born March 12, 1931, in Caswell County, NC. and she was a member of New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, in Ruffin, NC, where she served in the missionary circle and as a deaconess.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Edward Brown, Sr.; her six sisters, Fannie Whittle, Drew Mims, Addie Falden, Annie Cannon, Fadonia Watlington, and Naomi Smith; her five brothers, John, George, Herley, Joseph, and Otis Gwynn.
Mrs. Alice Evelyn Gwynn Brown leaves to cherish her memories to her daughter, Claretta B. Graves (Reverend Alexander) of Yanceyville, NC; her three sons, Floyd E. Brown Jr. (Connie), of McLeansville, NC, Michael Lee Brown, Sr. (Millie) of Ruffin, NC, and Ricky Brown, Sr. (Vonda) of McLeansville, NC; her two sisters, Jennie Gwynn Jackson of Washington, DC, and Ruby Gwynn Bradley (Richard) of Bowie, MD; her aunt, Hallie Willis of Hampton, VA; her nine grandchildren, Alexandria Graves, Vincent Graves (Erica), Shumeka Brown, Floyd Brown III, Michael brown, Jr., Ricky Brown, Jr., Mariah Brown, Mya Brown, and Ashton Wicker; her nine great-grandchildren; her six sisters-in-law, Lillie W. Gwynn of Greensboro, NC, Viola Brown Madkins of Ruffin, NC; Lillie B. Patterson of Danville, VA, Ana Lee Brown of GA, Diane Mims (Bobby), and Barbara Brown both of Pelham, NC; her three brothers-in-law, Willie B. Brown (Elaine) of Reidsville, NC, Alfred Brown (Evonne), and William Brown (Elsie) all of Brown Summit, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.
A viewing for Mrs. Alice Evelyn Gwynn Brown will be Tuesday, January 3, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Evelyn Gwynn Brown will be Wednesday, January 4, 2022, 1:00 PM with family arriving at 12:30 in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at New Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
