Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Alice Felica "Lisa" Poteat 60, of 434 West 163 St. New York, New York formerly of Milton, NC who died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at her residence.
She was a native of Caswell County, NC, the daughter of the late Willie Hill and Annette Poteat Hill, born October 17, 1960. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was an employee of the city of New York Health Department as a health director.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steven Eric Poteat.
Her survivors are devoted friend, Philip Whineglass of New York, NY; sister-in-law, Vaughn Poteat of Seattle, Washington; niece, Sigourney Poteat of Seattle, Washington; three aunts, Semond Poteat Coleman of Milton, NC, Brenda Pointer (Johnnie) of South Boston, VA, and Jeanette Poteat of Danville, VA; devoted cousin/sister, Sharone Hamlett (Melvin) of Milton, NC; devoted cousin, Rev. Reginald Coleman (Eva) of Ruffin, NC; devoted cousin/niece, Peaches Coleman of Danville, VA; devoted cousin/nephew, Jeremy Coleman of Burlington, NC; other cousins; relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
Funeral Services for Ms. Alice Felicia "Lisa" Poteat will be Thursday, December 17, 2020, 12:00 Noon in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the High Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
*Attendance at the funeral will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
