Brown Summit, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Alvis David Brown, age 75, of 7707 Locust Grove Road, Brown Summit, North Carolina, who passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Alvis David Brown was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina; and he was born April 16, 1946 to the late Fred Brown and Beulah Willis Brown. Many affectionately knew him as “David”.
David was a member of Graves Chapel Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina.
David was an employee of Guilford Textile Mills in Greensboro, North Carolina, prior to his retirement.
David’s favorite pastimes were watching television, especially old Westerns, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to David’s parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Mae Jones; three brothers, Fred Brown Sr., Edward (Pond) Brown, and William Albert Tate. One sister, Beulah Yvonne Brown Haas, and one brother, Burlie Hester Graves followed David in death.
Mr. Alvis David Brown leaves to cherish his precious memories to his stepbrother, Leon Graves (Vinnie) of Hampton, Virginia; two stepsisters, Shirley Bacon (Donell) of Syracuse, New York, and Claudia Cave of Washington, District of Columbia (DC); and a host of devoted nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Graveside Services for Mr. Alvis David Brown will be Sunday, September 19, 2021 2:00 PM at the Corbett Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Pelham, NC, with Pastor Lamar Boykin of New Ephesus Baptist Church delivering the words of comfort.
