Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Angela Lea Slade Hughes 53, of Yanceyville, NC, who passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in the Wesley Long Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
She was the daughter of Ruth Lipscomb Lea and the late Willie Lea, Sr., born February 9, 1968. She was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School and a member of Hamer Baptist Church in Blanch, NC.
Ms. Angela Lea Slade Hughes worked as a team leader for GKN, Inc.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Ann Oliver; two brothers, Dennis Darnell Lea and James Arthur Lea.
Cherishing her memories are her mother, Ruth Lipscomb Lea of Yanceyville, NC; her daughters, Latoria Hughes of Greensboro, NC and Kiara Hairston of Danville, VA; one son, Minister Keith Slade of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Minister Willie Earl Lea of Yanceyville, NC and Sherman Lea of Graham, NC; one brother-in-law, David Lewis Oliver; two aunts, Lillian Slade and Patsy Smith; and five grandchildren, Kennedy, Jace, Keon, Kelsey and Trenton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Ms. Angela Lea Slade Hughes will be Sunday, August 15, 2021 2:00 p.m. with family arriving at 1:30 pm at the Hamer Baptist Church, Blanch, NC, with Pastor Daniel Elmore delivering the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
