Annie Gwynn Yancey

Pelham, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Annie Gwynn Yancey of 5048 Allison Road, Pelham, NC; who passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at SOVAH Health in Danville, VA.

She was a native of Caswell County, NC the daughter of the late Ross Gwynn Sr. and Clyde Estelle Cannon Gwynn, born March 2, 1939. She was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir.

She was an employee of the Head Start Program in Yanceyville, NC and Gunn Library before retirement.

She was married to James Henry Yancey Sr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Henry Yancey Jr. "Boo"; one daughter, Annie Yancey Sellars; three brothers, Ulysses Field Gwynn, Roy Gwynn, and Billie Gwynn; four sisters, Rachel Holland, Mary Graves, Mariah Shirley,  and Florence Gwynn .

Her survivors are two daughters, Sharon Holloway (Minister David Holloway) of Danville, VA. and Minister Angel Patrick (George) of Pelham, NC; one son, Michael Earl Yancey (Terri) of Louisburg, NC; special son-in-law, Edward Gordon Sellars of Pelham, NC; one brother, Deacon Ross Gwynn Jr. (Ethel) of Pelham, NC; one sister, Eleanor Mitchell of Los Angels, California; four sisters-in-law, Esther Gwynn, Lillie Yancey, Earlene Yancey all of Pelham, NC and Marjorie Yancey of Reidsville, NC; six grandchildren; three great grandchild; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, February 25, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

(Facial Masks are required)

Funeral Services for Mrs. Annie Gwynn Yancey will be Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Pastor Freddie Seabrooks will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, NC.

The family will receive friends at her residence 5048 Allison Rd. Pelham, NC, Thursday from 1 to 5 pm and Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ( Facial Mask are required ).
