Green Level, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Annie Will Harris Poteat Carver formerly of 2314 West Simpson Road, Green Level, North Carolina who passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 in the Laurels of Forest Glenn Nursing Home, Garner, NC.
She was a native of Rockingham County, NC, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Harris, Sr. and Gillie Williamson Harris, born March 30, 1929. She was employed at Anadeen Hosiery, J-Lynn Hosiery Mill and before retirement she worked as a Greeter for Hardees.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Ernest Poteat and Robert Carver; daughter, Sadie Mae Poteat Cates; three sisters Mary Cook, Ada Wilson and Sarah Simpson; eleven brothers, Johnny, Thomas, Rufus, Ruby, Weldon, Marshall, Haywood Sr., William (Nick) Sr., Willie Turner Sr., Rally, and Robert Lee Harris, Jr.
Her survivors are two daughters, Sarah Poteat Ledet (Michael) of Pine Level, NC and Jacqueline Poteat Plato of Raleigh NC; three sons John Poteat (Margaret), Paul Poteat (Faye) of Mesquite, Texas and David Thomas Carver of Burlington, NC; one sister Gillie (Polly) Pinnix of Reidsville, NC; two brothers, David K. Harris (Betty) of Greensboro, NC, and Eddie Joe Harris, of Ruffin, NC, one sister-in-law Rachel Harris of Reidsville, NC; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
*Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. Please remember to follow CDC guidelines with everyone wearing protective gloves and masks.
Graveside Service will be Monday, July 6, 2020 12:00 Noon in the Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, NC. Reverend Reginald Cook will deliver the words of comfort.
