Danville, VA - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Deacon Anthony Douglas Johnson, Sr. of 125 Stokeland Avenue, Danville, VA; who passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at his residence.
Deacon Anthony was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina. He was born on March 14, 1950 to the late Hollis Johnson and Willie Pearl Brown Johnson.
Deacon Anthony attended the Caswell County Public School Systems in North Carolina. He later met and married the “Love of His Life” Miss Jacqueline Carter on January 04, 1975.
Deacon Anthony was a member of Bibleway Worldwide Church, in Danville, Virginia; where he served as an Assistant Sunday School Teacher, an Usher, a member of the Brotherhood Club Auxiliary, and the Radio Choir.
Deacon Anthony was an employee at Good Year Tire & Rubber Company in Danville, Virginia prior to his retirement.
In addition to his parents, Deacon Anthony was preceded by two sisters, Carolyn Farrish, and Dora Hankins; three brothers, Richard Johnson, Clifton Brown, and Ernest Johnson.
Deacon Anthony Douglas Johnson, Sr., leaves to cherish his precious memories to his beloved wife, Mrs. Jacqueline K. Carter Johnson of the home; one daughter, Jackie Latoya Johnson (Gregui Larrieux); one son, Anthony Douglas Johnson, Jr. (Kenika Beard) all of Danville, VA; one sister, Mae Evelyn Watlington (Charlie) of Burlington, NC; five grandchildren, Shania, Porschia, and Anthony Johnson, Jr. III, Ariana and Jayden Larrieux; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing for Deacon Anthony Douglas Johnson, Sr., will be Friday, March 04, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Deacon Anthony Douglas Johnson, Sr. will be Saturday, March 05, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Elder Larry Campbell, Pastor of Bibleway Worldwide Church from Danville, VA will provide "Words of Comfort".
Interment for Deacon Anthony Douglas Johnson, Sr. will follow the Funeral Service at Highland Burial Park Cemetery in Danville, VA.
