Pelham, NC - Mrs. Audrey Victoria Foster Gwynn was born October 1, 1927, to the late James Edgar and Willie Ester Totten Foster. Our Heavenly Father called her to her eternal home on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, from the Hospice Home of Alamance & Caswell in Burlington N.C.
Audrey, affectionately called (Vee), attended Caswell County Training School class of 1947 in Yanceyville, N.C. She joined Mineral Springs Baptist Church, as a young child and she attended Sunday School, sang in the choir, ushered and was a missionary member, deaconess, kitchen aide and Mother of the Church . She was a Godfearing Christian.
She was married to Otis Gwynn for 64 years. This union was blessed with nine children. Her faith was unwavering and she showed unconditional love to her family, friends and everyone she met. She worked with her spouse and children on the family farm. She always enjoyed planting vegetable gardens and beautiful flowers, canning and fishing in the family pond. She made quilts and clothing for her children. She always rose early to prepare meals for her family. She sang gospel songs throughout the day while carrying out her daily routine as a Homemaker.
Audrey was proceeded in death by her husband Otis Gwynn and her daughter Eloine Octavia Morrow (twin); she was also preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Wiley; four brothers, James Foster Jr., Archie Foster, Roy Foster and Tommy Foster.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children, Dorothy Rosemary Gwynn (twin), Pelham, NC, Lemma Small (Dane), Gastonia, NC, Evelyn Sharon Mims, High Point, NC, Marie Folk (Hugh), Upper Marlboro, MD, Otis Gwynn (Alfreda), Hope Mills, NC, Beverly Gwynn, Pelham, NC, Brenda Fleming, District Heights, MD, and Gordon Gwynn, Pelham, NC; sister, Queen McRae (Robert), Durham, NC.; brothers, Jimmie Foster (Channie), Danville, VA, Ackery Foster, Blanch, NC, Joseph Foster (Rebecca), Yanceyville, NC, Winford Foster (Amelia), Yanceyville, NC; sisters-in-law, Clara Foster, Elizabeth Foster, Naomi Smith, Evelyn Brown, Jennie Jackson, Ruby Bradley (Richard), and Lillie Gwynn; brother-in-law, Percy Watlington; ten grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., Darina Mims, Crystal Anderson (Jay), Matthew, David Small, Kerdrick Gwynn, Timothy and Thomas Folk, Erica Gwynn, Jonathan Fleming and Dominic Wells; five great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
