Berthine Stokes Jeffries

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Berthine Stokes Jeffries 61, of 583 Old farm Apts. 8-B Yanceyville, NC, who passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023, in the SOVAH Health Danville, VA.

She was a native of Caswell County, NC the daughter of the late Owen Stokes Sr. and Alma Long Stokes, born October 15, 1961. She was a member of Sassafras Grove Baptist Church and was an employee of McDonalds in Yanceyville, NC.

In addition to her parents, Berthine was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Long, Larry Barber and Mitchell Stokes.

She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Harold Jeffries; one son, Joshua Jeffries (Latoya) of Danville, VA.; one stepson, Tim Stamps of Ringgold, VA; three stepdaughters, Kimberley Renee Patterson and Yatarsha April Jeffries of Danville, VA and Tracey Reynolds of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Owen Stokes Jr. (Renee) and Henry Stokes (Robin) all of Yanceyville, NC; two sisters, Eloise Stokes of Yanceyville, NC and Sharon Willis (Lorenzo) of Milton, NC; aunts, Catherine Moore (Lawrence) of Blanch, NC, Nettie Long Johnson (William) of Providence, NC, Mary Turner Stokes of Yanceyville, NC and Betty Graves Long of Danville, VA; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; 8 step-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

A viewing will be Thursday, June 15, 2023; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Berthine Stokes Jeffries will be Friday, June 16, 2023; 2:00 p.m. at Sassafras Grove Baptist Church, Yanceyville, NC.

Interment will follow in the Sassafras Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Yanceyville, NC.
