Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Bessie Pyles Clayborn of Milton, NC, who passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in the Roxboro Healthcare and Rehab. Center, Roxboro, NC.

Mrs. Bessie Pyles Clayborn, 81, was born January 6, 1942, to the late Charlie and Virginia Hamlett Pyles in Caswell County, North Carolina. At an early age Bessie Clayborn dedicated her life to Christ becoming a member of the Oak Level A.M.E. Church. Bessie was a dedicated member of the Kitchen Committee, and a true missionary. Bessie enjoyed assisting the youth, not just in the church but in the community. Better known as (Tuts) by her great niece Aliyah and great nephew Ashton. She is loved by all children.

In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband Algie Leroy Clayborn; two sisters Rohazel Wilson and Elsie Wilson; and two brothers Tim Pyles and Charlie Pyles Jr.

Mrs. Bessie Clayborn leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her two daughters Sandra Clayborn and Tammy Clayborn of the home; one grand god daughter Shanquetta Wilson; four sisters-in-law Regina Pyles (Danville, VA), Mabel Clayborn (Milton, NC), Juanita Withers (Milton, NC), and Cora Crutchfield; her fourteen nephews Ronnie (Shirley), Joe Nathan (Jeanette), Jeffrey Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Walter Allen , Orlando Allen (Nancy), Jerry Pyles (Lisa), Charles Pyles, Donald Pyles (Emma), Sidney (Clarice), Richard (Leslie), Timothy (Erica), Wayne (Brenda), Edward Jr. (Melissa); twelve nieces Rosa (Anthony), Virginia, Elsie, Betty Jane, Donna Sanders, Deborah Pyles, JoAnn Saunders, Monica (Mason), Mary Ann, Beatrice, Angela (Kenny), Tammy, and Edith with whom she shared a special bonds, a host of great nephews and nieces, as well as other relatives and friends.

A viewing for Mrs. Bessie Pyles Clayborn will be Friday, March 31, 2023; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bessie Pyles Clayborn will be Saturday, April 1, 2023; 2 p.m. at Oak Level A.M.E. Church in Milton, NC.

Interment will follow at the Oak Level A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Milton, NC.
