Yanceyville. - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Deshawn Christopher Smith 30, of 1813 Cherry Grove Rd. who passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born February 9, 1991 in El Paso, Texas, he was the son of Darrell Smith and Maria Lozano Henderson (Tyrone) and was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School, Class of 2009.
Chris as he was called by many was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tyrone Henderson Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved mother and stepfather, Maria L. Henderson (Tyrone) of the home; father, Darrell Smith of Ruffin, NC; sisters, Celina Henderson of the home; Ashley Jones (Isaiah) of Columbia, SC, Kiara Smith of Danville, VA.; brother, Isaiah Smith of Pelham, NC; maternal grandmother, Delia Lozano of El Paso, Texas; paternal grandmother, Margaret Smith of Ruffin, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Deshawn Christopher Smith will be Thursday, July 5 2021, 3:00 p.m. at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Reginald Coleman delivering the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
