Blanch, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Deacon Lawrence Moore of 771 High Rock School Rd. Blanch, NC, who passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, in the Roman Eagle Rehab and Health Care Center, Danville, VA.
He was a native of Caswell County, NC, the son of the late Shepard Moore and Maggie Mitchell Moore, born June 10, 1940. He was a member of Hamer Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, Usher, and member of the cemetery committee. He was also he was a member of the High Rock Hunting Club, where he was one of the founders and first president.
Lawrence was an employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and was a farmer before retirement.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Cornelia Jeffries; six sisters, Annie Bell Watlington, Blondelia Cobb, Katie Mae Jeffries, Martha Boyd, Sherdina " Shirley" Harris and Eunice Lownes; two brothers, David Moore and Benjamin Moore; son-in-law, George "Moe" Lipscomb.
He leaves to cherish his memories, wife of 59 years, Catherine Long Moore; daughter, Lisa Moore Lipscomb; son, Derrick Moore (Sonya); three grandchildren, Justin Moore, JaTashia Moore and Jhabari Johnson; sisters-in-law, Frances Moore of Washington, DC and Betty Long of Danville, VA.; brother-in-law, Linwood Harris of Danville, VA.; a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Public viewing for Deacon Lawrence Moore will be Saturday, December 30, 2023; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Family visitation viewing for Deacon Lawrence Moore will be Sunday, December 31, 2023; from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Hamer Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Deacon Lawrence Moore will be conducted at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023; at Hamer Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Daniel Elmore, delivering the words of comfort.
Interment will follow in the Hamer Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
