Deacon Willie Percell Robertson

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Deacon Willie Percell Robertson of Yanceyville, North Carolina. He passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Deacon Willie Percell Robertson was born to the late Louvenia Robertson and Lemmie Wall in Yanceyville, North Carolina on September 27, 1954. He was the grandson of the late Robert "Bob" Roberts and Hattie Mae Candice McGhee Roberts.

He was a faithful, dedicated member of Zion Gate Apostolic Church where he served as a Deacon and sang in the church choir. He loved to sing. One of his favorite songs was “Everyday Will Be Like Sunday.”

He was educated in the Caswell County School System and he was a 1976 graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School.

Before his declining health, he worked at the Thompson Family Farm and then Food Lion.

His favorite football and basketball sports teams were the “Dallas Cowboys” and the “Tarheels.” He also loved watching wrestling.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Robinson, and his brother, Woodrow Robinson.

Deacon Willie Percell Robertson leaves to cherish his memories: his nieces, Natasha Stewart (Tuck) and McKenzie Stewart (Ruffin); his nephews: Lamont Robinson and Kendrick Stewart both of Ruffin, North Carolina; sister, Betty Lou Robinson of Mebane, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Sophia Robinson; two aunts, Gracie Robertson of Yanceyville, North Carolina and Roberta McGhee of Leasburg, North Carolina; his former wife, Donna Gunn; best friends: Carl Wiley of McKinney, Texas, Shirley Graves, Leona Smith, James, and Gaynell Hamm; other loving relatives, and friends.

A special thanks to Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, both the Reidsville and Greensboro locations; to his case workers: Gina and Michelle; his niece, McKenzie Stewart, his Pastor and Church Family; and the Suncrest Apartment Community.

Public viewing for Deacon Willie Percell Robertson will be on Saturday, April 06, 2024; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral.

Funeral Services for Deacon Willie Percell Robertson will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 07, 2024; at High Rock Baptist Church, in Blanch, NC.

Interment will follow in High Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Blanch, NC.
