Doris Ann Pyles "Squeaky" Womack Obituary

Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack, 68, of 336 Hudson Rd. Milton, North Carolina, who died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at LeConte Medical Center, Sevierville, Tennessee.

Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina where she was born on June 11, 1952 to the late Jessie Pyles and Dorothy Long Pyles.

Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack was a Bartlett Yancey High School graduate of “Class of 1970”. She joined Oak Level AME Church in Milton, North Carolina at an early age. Later Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack attended Zion Level Baptist Church in Semora, North Carolina with her husband and children.

On June 11, 1982 Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Pyles was united in holy matrimony to Rufus Womack and to their union were four children.

Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack became a Tax Preparer through the certification of H&R Block. She also received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure in 1999. She later became employed with Royal Park as well as with A.R.T. Home Care located in Burlington, North Carolina prior to retirement. Some of Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack’s favorite past-times were playing Bingo and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack was preceded in death by her one son, Timothy Pyles, Sr. and one brother, John Pyles.

Mrs. Doris Ann “Squeaky” Womack leaves to cherish her precious memories to her: husband, Rufus Womack of the home; three daughters, Angela Jones (Kenneth) of Brown Summit, North Carolina, Tarneshia Womack (Bobby) of Blanch, North Carolina, Roxanne Womack (Jason) of Gibsonville, North Carolina; six sisters, Margaret Wherry, Janie (Ervin) Pyles Farmer, Geneva (Harold) Scott, Louise Pyles, Judy Miller, and Darlene (Reverend Rhon) Hammond; one brother, Littleton Pyles (Eva); 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Peggy Pyles, Cynthia McGhee, Tamika Pointer, Valarie McLendon, and Debra Rogers; one brother-in-law, Douglas Rogers; one daughter-in-law, Robyn Pyles; five aunts, Gracie Harris, Jeraline Manning, Lillian Allen (Ray), Sarah Long, and Deloris Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a  viewing will be Friday, October 30, 2020 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.   (Per CDC Guidelines:  Facial Masks are required).

Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Pyles” Squeaky” Womack will be Saturday, October 31, 2020, 1:00 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memory Garden Danville, VA.

*Attendance at the funeral will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
