Dorothy "Dot" Murphy

Yanceyville, NC- It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Dorothy " Dot" S. Murphy of Lot 10 Hwy. 86. North., who passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC.

Ms. Dorothy “Dot” S. Murphy was the daughter of the late Willie Mae Southern born August 18, 1950 in Caswell County, NC.  She was a member of the Zion’s Gate Apostolic Church, Yanceyville, NC.  She was employed with Glen Raven Mills before retirement.

Ms. Dorothy “Dot” S. Murphy leaves to cherish her memories her beloved son John Albert Southern of Yanceyville, NC; one sister, Shirley Ann Graves of Yanceyville, NC; one brother, William Floyd McDaniel of Yanceyville, NC; one granddaughter Monica Marie Adams of Roanoke, VA; a devoted  friend, Carl Miles  of Yanceyville; an aunt, Minister Zelma Brim of Milton, NC; one niece, Melissa Murphy of Yanceyville, NC and a host of other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Ms. Dorothy “Dot” S. Murphy will be Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Elder Luck will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Yanceyville Municipal Cemetery in Yanceyville, NC.
