Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Elder Bobbie Wayne Plunkett of 5774 Highway 86 North Yanceyville, NC. He passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at his residence.
Bobbie, the son of the late Percy McCain and Bernice Pritchett, was born on August 2, 1940, in Blanch, North Carolina.
Bobbie owned and operated Plunkett Auto on Highway 86 for many years.
He was a member of the United Holiness Worship Center for more than 40 years where he served faithfully. He was a Sunday School teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, president of the men’s ministry, and was an Elder.
In addition to his parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by his two sons: Anthony Metts and Kevin Metts; his sister: Luethel Graves; his brothers: Carl Plunkett, John Plunkett, Noel Plunkett, and William “Spider” Plunkett.
He leaves to cherish his memories; two sons, Angelo Hunt (Tia) of Bowie, MD, and Bruce Hunt of District Heights, MD; one daughter, Alexis Galloway of Yanceyville, NC; two sisters: Minister Bernice Plunkett Vincent of South Boston, VA and Elder Joyce Plunkett Mitchell of Danville, VA; two brothers: Clarence McCain (Mary Louise) of Yanceyville, NC and Ronnie Plunkett of Kernersville, NC; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and his church family.
A public viewing for Elder Bobbie Wayne Plunkett will be on Friday, April 5, 2024; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Elder Bobbie Wayne Plunkett will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 6, 2024; at United Holiness Church;139 Smith Chapel Road, Pelham, NC.
Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park Danville, Va.
