Reidsville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Fannie Turner of 3307 Stoney Creek School Rd. Reidsville, NC, who passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her residence.
She was a native of Caswell County, NC, the daughter of the late Ned Bigelow Sr. and Mary Tate Bigelow, born February 3, 1926. She was a member of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Missionary, Senior choir and a former member of the Order of St. Luke.
She was a Graduate of Caswell County Training School and she was a homemaker.
She was married to Willie Banks Turner who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Eva Bigelow, Ned Bigelow Jr., Ulysses Bigelow, Maude Jane Bigelow Poteat, Mae Sue Bigelow Watlington Spinks, Walter Bigelow, John Bigelow, George Bigelow, Annie Pauline Bigelow Graves, Gracie Irene Bigelow Yellock, and Nathan Bigelow.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories are her children: Carl Lee Turner Sr. (Cora), Mary Virginia Turner Mitchell (Odell), and Wallace Eugene Turner (Tammy). Her grandchildren: Beverly M. Winstead, Carl Lavelle Turner, Corey L Turner (Rhonda), and Courtney L. Turner. 1 great-grandson, Caden Turner. Three sister -in-laws: Mrs. Ellen Turner Tate Clegg of Burlington, NC, Mrs. Gertrude Turner Raymond of Bronx, New York and Mrs. Ocie Graves Bigelow of Yanceyville, NC. She also leaves a plethora of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, special neighbors and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Monday, January 25, 2021 from 2 to7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
Graveside service for Mrs. Fannie Bigelow Turner will be Tuesday, January 26, 2021 1:00 pm in Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tommy Williamson will deliver the words of comfort.
