George Elmore Jr.

Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. George Elmore Jr. of 2451 Hwy 57 N. Milton, NC, who passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the Alamance Regional Medical Center, Burlington, NC.

Mr. George Elmore Jr. was born in Caswell County, NC on August 27, 1948 to the late George Elmore and Thelma Bigelow Elmore. He was married to Edith Stewart Elmore, who survives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. George Elmore Jr. is preceded in death by five sisters, Marilyn Royster, Regina Bailey, Rosa Yarbrough, Millie Bethea, and Shelia Elmore: seven brothers, Harvey Elmore, Willie “Bill” Elmore, John Lewis Elmore, Willie James Elmore, James Alphonso Elmore, Easley Elmore, and Ominous Elmore.

Mr. George Elmore Jr. accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, where he attended Macedonia A.M.E Church in Milton, NC and was a Welder for the Buckner Steel Company before retirement.

Mr. George Elmore Jr. leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Edith Stewart Elmore of the residence; three daughters, Wanda Boone of Burlington, NC, Tracey Smith (Kermit) of Charlotte, NC; Jacklyn Goza (Antwoine) of Greensboro, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Dixon of Milton, NC and Virginia Maynard of Oxon Hill, MD; seven grandchildren;  Douglas Boone III, Skylar Boone, Tania Smith, Kamran Smith, Jazzlyn Goza, Kaliyah Goza, and Antwoine Goza Jr.; one aunt, Maude Thaxton of Augusta, Georgia; two uncle, Lucham  Bigelow ( Jeanette ) of Pleasant Hill, NJ and Miles Bryant of Durham, NC; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, April 9, 2021, from 2 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.     (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).

Funeral Services for Mr. George Elmore Jr. will be Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.   Pastor Kelvin Royster will deliver the words of comfort.  Interment will follow in Macedonia AME Church Cemetery, Milton, NC.    (Per CDC Guidelines:  Facial Masks are required).
