Georgianna Abbott Johnson

Eden, NC - Mrs. Georgianna (Georgia) Abbott Johnson was born on June 5, 1930, to Charlie and Georgianna Griffin Abbott. Georgia, born and raised in Rockingham County, led a devoted life of motherhood and servitude for her family and community.

Georgia was a member of the 700 Flower Club as well as a longtime member of Bluestone Baptist Church, where she served on the culinary committee, courtesy committee, and was also a missionary.

Anyone who knew Georgia would speak not only of her love and skill for cooking, but also of her unmatched sense of fashion. Georgia was a sweet soul, who never had an unkind word for anyone.

On Thursday April 27, 2023, Georgia answered her call for eternal rest. Proceeding her in death in addition to her parents are her husband, Dwight Alexander Johnson, a brother, William Alexander Abbott, and two sisters, Elretha Young and Nettie Sue Lea. Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Savannah Johnson, Janice Brown, and Lannette Johnson, of Eden, North Carolina; daughter, Joyce Johnson of Jamestown, North Carolina; son, Dwight Anthony Johnson of Eden, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Brian Brown, Cherisse Daniels, Erika Daniels, Kristopher Daniels; one great grandchild, Embree Barksdale; siblings, Walter Abbott of Carrollton, Virginia, Cornelia Abbott of Durham, North Carolina, Virginia Sobers of Greensboro, North Carolina, Charlie Abbott Jr. of Greensboro, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Elnora Johnson of New Jersey; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mama, you left behind a legacy of love and humility. We will forever remember your strength, your patience, and all that you endured to get to your eternal rest. You fought the good fight and have finished the race.

A viewing will be Thursday May 4, 2023; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel 417 Price St. Eden, NC.

Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2023, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Georgianna Abbott Johnson will be Friday, May 5, 2023; at 2 p.m. at Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church, Pelham, NC.

Interment will follow at the Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, NC.
