Gracie Long Harris

Blanch, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Gracie Long Harris formerly of Blanch, NC, who passed away Sunday, January 02, 2022 in the Hospice of Rockingham in Wentworth, NC.

Gracie was the daughter of the Adolphus Long and Annie Dodson Long, born September 19, 1932 in Caswell County, North Carolina.

Gracie retired as a food service employee for the Caswell County School System. 

Gracie was also a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an usher and a choir member.

In addition to her parents, Gracie was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Harris; one son, Morrell Harris; eight brothers, William, James, Pete, Edward, Monroe, Burney, Raymond and Thomas Long; four sisters, Mary Brandon, Martha Jefferies, Irene Long, and Dorothy Pyles.

Mrs. Gracie Bell Long Harris leaves to cherish her beloved memories her one daughter, Venus Harris of Danville, VA.; two sisters, Jearlene Manning of San Diego, California, and Lillian Allen (Ray) of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters-in-law, Delois Evans, and Sarah Long; three grandchildren, Alge'Rod Harris (Candice), Donnell Edmunds (Satoria), and Jamiyah Harris; three great grandchildren, Diamond Alyana, Alge’Rod Joseph, and Juliana Ivanka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gracie Bell Long Harris will be Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with family arriving at 12 noon in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Pastor Clifton Madden presiding, and Reverend Rhon Hammond will deliver the words of comfort.  Interment will follow in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Milton, NC.
