Glenarden, MD - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Howard Lacy Willis of 1524 5th Street, Glenarden, MD who passed away Wednesday, February 02, 2022; at University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD.
Mr. Howard, son of the late Solomon Garrett Willis and Eula Bowe Willis was born on September 22, 1934. He was an educated native of Yanceyville, North Carolina.
Mr. Howard joined Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina at a young age.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Howard was a semi-18-wheeler tractor trailer truck driver for over 23 years at Safeway Food Stores in Landover, Maryland.
Mr. Howard met and married the love of his life, Betty Lou Shaw on April 22nd, 1972; where they moved from North Carolina and resided in Maryland.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Willis, Sr.; three sisters, Airlene Burns, Ida bell Henderson, and Mary Sampson; four brothers, Robert Willis, Saul Willis Jr., Claude Willis, and Jesse Lewis.
Mr. Howard Lacy Willis, leaves to cherish his precious memories to his beloved wife, Mrs. Betty Lou Willis of the residence; his daughter, Maxine Willis (Cassandra) of Greensboro, NC; his son, Dennis Shaw of Reidsville, NC; his sister, Betty "Tootsie" Braxton of Snow Hill, NC, his brother, Raymond "Jimmy" Willis (Linda) of Fort Washington, MD; his daughter-in-law, Judy Willis of Bowie, MD; his grand-children, Kim Shaw, David Graves Jr., Carl Griffith, Frankie Shaw, Albert Shaw, Whitney Clemmons, Kenny Willis Jr., Kenitha Willis, Courtney Manley, and Cameron Manley; his great grandchildren, Mekai Nelson, Michaile Broadus, Cordero "KJ" Anderson, Kimora Anderson, Vicky Shaw, Kimari Henderson, Ira Shaw, Almira Shaw, Anjel Graves, Davina Graves, Kiyanna Delvalle, and Latuna McGee; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends; especially his friends; William "Slim" Saunder, JB, Skeeter, and DJ Tony.
The Family is receiving guest at 1380 Stoney Creek School Road (Facial Masks are required).
A viewing for Mr. Howard Lacy Willis will be Friday, February 11, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Mr. Howard Lacy Willis will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Following Funeral Service, the Interment will be at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in the Willis Section.
