Jacob Leroy King

Eden, NC - Mr. Jacob Leroy King departed this life on Sunday, February 5th, 2023 at his residence at 413 Cedar St. Eden, NC. He was born on December 20th, 1948 in Pittsylvania County to the late Lester King and Arnetha Wright-King.

He attended the Henry County Public Schools and later joined the Job Corp where he received his GED. He also served in Vietnam for the United States Army where he was honorably discharged after serving 2 years. Jacob worked at Bassett-Walker textile plant until his retirement.

Jacob was united in marriage to the late Denise Darcel Hampton and to this union was born two children. Jacob accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with the St. Paul Holiness Church of Axton, VA under the leadership of the late Bishop Edward C. Martin.

In addition to his parents Jacob was preceded in death by one sister, Carol A. Patrick, three brothers Willard, Franco, and Autry King. One brother-in-law, Allen Tinsley and one nephew Derrick “Shaun” Tinsley.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Tabaitha Keels (Kevin) of Kannapolis, NC and  Marlena King (Bobby)  of Concord, NC. Three grandchildren Talib, Genesis, and Maya all of Concord, NC. One sister Laura Tinsley of Axton, VA. Two brothers Clifton King (Rosie) of Martinsville, VA and Rodger King (Sheila) of Eden, NC. One aunt Vernard Martin of Silver Springs, Maryland. Two sister- in-laws Gladys King and Theresa King both of Axton, VA. One brother-in-law Charles Patrick of West Orange, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends, Willard Smith, Ted Dalton, and  Leroy McCullar.

A viewing for Mr. Jacob Leroy King will be Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel at 417 Price St. Eden, NC.

Funeral services for Mr. Jacob Leroy King  will be Friday, February 10, 2023, 1:00 PM  with family arriving 12:30 PM at Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel; 417 Price St. Eden, NC.

Interment will follow at St. Paul Holiness Church Cemetery, Axton, VA.
