James Wilson Henderson

Eden, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. James "Double" Wilson Henderson of Eden, North Carolina. He passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Willow Valley Nursing Home in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

James was born in Caswell County, NC on June 09, 1944, to the late Ellis Wilson Henderson, Sr. and the late Annette King Henderson.

He received his education from the local public schools including Caswell County High School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Double was employed as a machine operator at Cone Mills in Greensboro, North Carolina, until the closure of the textile company. Later, he worked for Flav-O-Rich Dairy in Greensboro, North Carolina. His favorite pastime activities included bowling, deep-sea fishing, dancing, and being the life of the party. Double became a member of Sassafras Grove Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina at an early age.

In addition to his parents, Double was preceded in death by his siblings Virginia Jones, Alberta Davis, Annie Delona Williamson, Ellis Henderson, Jr., and Curtis Henderson.

Mr. James Wilson Henderson “Double” leaves to cherish his precious memories with his two beloved daughters Michelle McMillian (Isaiah) of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Eugenia Simpson of Morristown, New Jersey, his two sons Brian W. Henderson (Andrea) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Ray Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; his three grandchildren MaCayla McMillian of Greensboro, North Carolina, Garrett Henderson and Gavin Henderson both of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was also survived by his siblings, Keron Snipe of White Plains, New York, Barbara Graves of Pelham, North Carolina, Wendell Henderson (Yvonne) of Pelham, North Carolina, and Raymond Henderson of Reidsville, North Carolina; a special friend Ruth Hairston of Eden, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.

A viewing for Mr. James Wilson Henderson will be Thursday, March 27, 2025; from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. James Wilson Henderson will be Friday, March 28, 2025 from 11:30 to 12:00 noon at East White Oak Baptist Church, 1815 Water Street, Greensboro, NC 27405.

Funeral service for Mr. James Wilson Henderson will be Friday, March 28, 2025; 12:00 noon  at East White Oak Baptist Church, 1815 Water Street, Greensboro, NC 27405; Bishop B.W. Mittman, will be delivering the words of comfort.
