John Henry Cannon

Pelham, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. John Henry Cannon, 73, of 3813 Allison Rd., Pelham, NC who passed away on April 2, 2020 at his residence.

Beloved husband, father, brother and friend was born October 8,1946 in Caswell County, NC to the late Rayfield Cannon and Annie Gwynn Cannon. 

John attended Caswell County High School. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mineral Springs Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member, served as a Trustee and sang in the Male Chorus.  He worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over 30 years. After his retirement in 2009, he drove buses for the Caswell County School System and was an active servant of the community offering to help anyone that he could.

John was married to Belinda Bushnell Cannon for 48 years and to their union two daughters were born: Jennifer F. Cannon of Charlotte, NC and Shawnta L. Cannon of Atlanta, GA.

In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by his siblings:  James Cannon (Annie), Ulysses Cannon (Margaret), Larry Cannon (Phyllis), Charlie Cannon (Pamela), Effie Cole (Clinton), Miami Jones and Annie Elliott; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 2 to 8 PM from the Juanita  S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton- Walton Funeral  Home with a limited of 10 people at a time.
