LaJeanna Simmons Simpson

Ruffin, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. LaJeanna Simmons Simpson 57,  of 108 Smith Rd. Ruffin, NC, who passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital Greensboro, NC.

LaJeanna was born August 18, 1964 in Newburgh, New York and was a native of Akron, Ohio for 18 years. She then moved to Reidsville, NC,  where she met her life partner, Raymond Simpson. 

She was the daughter of Richard Simmons and the late Jean Doris Simmons Collins. She was a member of West End Baptist Church in Reidsville, NC and was an employee of Spectrum in Greensboro, NC.

LaJeanna was proceeded in death by her mother, Jean S. Collins and step father James E. Collins Sr.; sisters, Taja Simmons, and Renee Clark; brothers, James E. Collins Jr. and Anthony Collins (Analisa); maternal grandparents; Ralph France, Vivian P. Graves and Wilson Graves; paternal grandparents, Augusta and Ethel Simmons.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her husband; Deacon Raymond Simpson of the home, son, Juwan Simpson of Charlotte, NC; daughter; La Bre’a Simpson of Winston-Salem, NC, father; Richard A. Simmons Sr. (Rhea)  of Akron Ohio; great aunt, Willie Mae Bob of Columbus Ohio; four brothers, Richard A Simmons Jr. (Leeanna)  of Akron Ohio, Anthony W. Simmons of  Reidsville NC, Maurice L. Simmons of Akron Ohio and  Anthony C. Sutton Sr.  of Akron, Ohio; five sisters, Renee R. Simmons of Reidsville NC, Sandra Pointer (Lee) of Roxboro NC, Patricia Hamilton (James) of Akron Ohio, Vernie Collins of Akron Ohio, and SaRita Cooper (Ernest) of Houston Texas;  a host of close friends, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, and extended family and friends. 

A viewing will be Friday, May 13, 2022 from 2 to 7 pm in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Mrs. LaJeanna Simmons Simpson  will be Saturday, May 14, 2022 2:00 PM at Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist  Church Cemetery.
