Lenwood David "Buddy Boy" Stokes

Ruffin, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Lenwood David “Buddy Boy” Stokes of 631 Goose Pond Rd. Ruffin, NC, who passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at his residence.

He was the son of the late Horace Stokes and Pattie Williams Stokes born March 03, 1949 in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

Lenwood was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church and a member of Pelham Masonic Lodge #571.  He was an employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 32 years before retirement.

In addition to his parents, Lenwood was predeceased by one son, L. Durand Stokes; two sisters, Bertha S. Prillaman, and Brenda S. Rogers Jennings; two brothers, Eugene, and Charles Stokes.

Mr. Lenwood David “Buddy Boy” Stokes, leaves to cherish his memories to one son, Lenwood Demonde Stokes (Darlene); one grandson, Bryson Stokes; three granddaughters, Jordan Penn, Alison Stokes, and Olivia Stokes; one great-grandson, Ali Williams; one sister; Adell S. Edmonds (James); one brother-in-law, Sherman Jennings; two nieces, Shannon Stokes-Graham, and Tammy Stokes-Hewitt; one nephew, John Lenwood Rogers; three aunts, Susie Williams, Addie Stokes, and Josephine Williams; two uncles Cecil C. Stokes, and John W. Fulton; four great nephews, Darrion Stokes-Graham, Joshua Hewitt, Jaxen Rogers, and Jace Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, November 06, 2020 from 2 to 8 pm with the family being present from 5 to 8pm in Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.  

Funeral Services for Mr. Lenwood David “Buddy Boy” Stokes will be Saturday, November 07, 2020,12:00 noon with family arriving at 11:00 am at Mount Herman Baptist Church, Ruffin, NC. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

(PER CDC GUIDELINES: FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL SERVICES).

*Attendance at the funeral will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
