Lovelene Stewart Winstead

Semora, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Lovelene Stewart Winstead, 89, of 3074 Jack Pointer Road, Semora, North Carolina, who died Sunday, December 13, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Lovelene Stewart Winstead was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina born on January 17, 1931 to the late Tommy Long and Millie Bethea. She was raised by Harrison Stewart and O’Tealya Stewart.

Mrs. Lovelene was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and a member of the Senior Choir.  She was an employee of Dan River Mills in Danville, Virginia before retirement.

Mrs. Lovelene Stewart Winstead was preceded; one daughter, Jeanette Winstead; two grandchildren, James Gunn and Tearron Clayborn; and eleven brothers.

Mrs. Lovelene Stewart Winstead leaves to cherish her beloved memories to her three daughters, Elaine W. Clayborn of Semora, North Carolina, Sue Turpin and Janet Stewart (Clarence) of Milton, North Carolina; one son, Douglas Smith of Semora, North Carolina; 6 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two special nephews, Barry Johnson and Frankie Stewart; five sisters-in-law, Mae Sue Winstead, Pansy Stewart, Ollie Mae Stewart (Chump), Ernestine Jay and Dorothy Lewis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, December 18, 2020 from 2 to7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.   (Per CDC Guidelines:  Facial Masks are required).

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lovelene Stewart Winstead will be Saturday, December 19, 2020 1:00 pm in Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Pastor P.D. Medley will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, Semora, NC.

*Attendance at the funeral service will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
