Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Margie Badgett - Lampkin 67, of 168 Dillard School Dr., who passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 in the UNC Hospitals Chapel Hill, NC.
She was a native of Caswell Co. NC, the daughter of Salem and Joyce Brown Badgett, born December 16, 1954. Margie was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.
Margie was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School class of 1973 and Averett College ( Averett University) in Danville, VA., with a BS degree in Elementary Education.
Margie was employed as a school teacher for the Danville Public School System ,also she was a teacher mentor for Danville Public School System before retirement.
She was a member of the Delta Sigma Gamma, ABWA ( American Business Women of America ) and Black elected Municipal officials group.
Margie was councilwoman and served as Mayor Pro Tem in Yanceyville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Lampkin.
Margie leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Jacinta Wiley of the home; parents, Deacon Salem and Joyce Brown Badgett of Yanceyville, NC; one sister, Elder Melondy Badgett of Yanceyville, NC; two brothers, Rodney Badgett of Yanceyville, NC and Brian Badgett Sr. of Lawrenceville, VA; grandson, Cleveland Gabriel Breedlove of Yanceyville, NC; close friends / co. workers, Cynthia Johnson, Alice Showalter, Lola King and Rena Hicks all of Danville, VA.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
(Facial Masks are required)
Funeral Services for Ms. Margie Badgett Lampkin will be Monday, April 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with family visitation from 1:30 to 2:00 pm in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home, Pastor Freddie Seabrooks will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, NC.
The family will receive friends at her residence . ( Facial Mask are required ).
