Danville, VA. It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Martha Lipscomb Hamlett of 161 New Ingram Rd. Danville, Virginia, who passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Piney Forest Nursing Facility, in Danville, Virginia.
Ms. Martha was born in Halifax County, North Carolina on April 20, 1933 to the late Algie Lipscomb and Mary Ruth Brandon Lipscomb.
Ms. Martha was a member of Greater Brandon Chapel Baptist Church in Alton, Virginia. She married William Floyd Hamlett and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, William Floyd Hamlett; three sisters, Katie Davis, Beulah Lipscomb, and Mary Rose Thaxton; five brothers, Billy Richmond, Eddie Lipscomb, Algie Lipscomb Jr., Sonny Lipscomb, and Abraham Lipscomb.
Ms. Martha L. Hamlett leaves to cherish her precious memories to her three sisters, Sally Robertson of Danville, Virginia; Clara Lipscomb of Blairs, Virginia, and Maggie Vinston of Milton, North Carolina; three brothers, Charlie Lipscomb, and Guy Lipscomb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Miller Lipscomb (Gladys) of Milton, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Viewing for Ms. Martha L. Hamlett will be Saturday, October 23, 2021, 2 to 7 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Chapel at Fulton-Walton Funeral in Yanceyville, North Carolina.
Funeral Services for Ms. Martha L. Hamlett will be Sunday, October 24, 2021, 2:00 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Chapel at Fulton-Walton Funeral in Yanceyville, North Carolina.
