Greensboro, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Marvin Lewis “Johnnie” Poteat 68, of Greensboro, NC, who passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Heartland Nursing Home, Greensboro, NC.
Marvin was the son to the late Nathaniel and Lucretia Moore Poteat born February 15, 1952 in Caswell County, NC. He was also an employee of Jenkins Company in Brown Summit, NC.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Headen Poteat; one son, Gregory Poteat; one brother Woodrow Poteat; three sisters; Esther Margaret McGee, Mary Poteat Brown, and Patricia Mae Poteat.
Mr. Marvin Lewis “Johnnie” Poteat leaves to cherish his memories to one son, Gary Poteat of Yanceyville, NC; one daughter, Jessica Poteat of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Jane Poteat Murman of Washington, DC, and Florence Poteat Scott of Blanch, NC; three brothers, David Poteat (Sue) of Blanch, NC; Michael Poteat of Danville, VA; and Henry "Jimmy" Poteat of Reidsville, NC; one sister-in-law, Diane Poteat of Blanch, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Memorial Services for Mr. Marvin Lewis Poteat will be Saturday, November 14, 2020, 10:00 AM in Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
