Mary Johnson

Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Mary Johnson, age 68, of 499 Hudson Rd. Milton, NC, who passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Jessie Johnson and Maxine Brandon Johnson born on November 21, 1954, of Milton, North Carolina, an at early age she professed hope in Christ and joined the Macedonia AME Church in Milton, North Carolina; where she served as an Usher for many years.

Mary received her formal education at the Caswell County School System, graduating from Bartlett Yancey Senior High School in Yanceyville, NC in 1973. After graduating, she began her professional career with Southern VA Mental Health Institute, where she retired from after 30 years of service as an Activity Director.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Leroy Johnson, Ronnie Johnson, and Calvin Johnson: and her one niece, Pamela Farmer.

Ms. Mary Johnson leaves to cherish her memories to her two sisters, Reverend Gladys Garland, and Mrs. Ernestine J. Hamlett (Harvey) all of Milton, NC; her one sister-in-law, Mildred Johnson of Milton, NC; her one aunt, Leona Brandon of Semora, NC; her four nephews, Harvey Hamlett, Jr. (Fonda) of Chesapeake, VA, Tony Hamlett (Cynthia) of Milton, NC, Eugene Garland (Tonya) of Durham, NC, Erik Garland (Deidre) of High Point, NC, and Erin Garland of Greensboro, NC; nieces, Gladys Stewart (Onassis), Mary Tina Johnson, Tara Hamlett all of Milton, NC; and host of loving relatives, and friends.

A viewing for Ms. Mary Johnson will be Sunday, January 01, 2023; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walto3n Funeral.

Visitation for Ms. Mary Johnson will be Monday, January 02, 2023; from 12:30-1:00pm

Funeral Services for Ms. Mary Johnson will be Monday, January 02, 2023; at 1:00pm at Macedonia AME Church in Milton, NC; with Pastor Royster as Eulogist.

Interment will follow at Macedonia AME Church Cemetery in Milton, NC.
