Mary Elizabeth Slade "Squeaky" Dixon

Ruffin, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Slade  "Squeaky" Dixon 70, of 8143 Park Springs Rd. Ruffin, NC, who passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 in the Hospice of Rockingham in Wentworth, NC.

She was the daughter of  the late Marshall Yancey and Edna Mae Slade, born May 21, 1952 in Rockingham County, NC. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the kitchen committee and a former member of the Gospel Choir. 

Squeaky as she was called by many was an employee of Seven Plant, before retirement.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Dixon; and one sister, Gwendolyn Slade Gwynn.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one son, James Dixon of Ruffin, NC; three daughters, Tina Dixon of Ruffin, NC, Tonya Dixon of Pelham, NC and Valanda Dixon of Ruffin, NC; three sisters, Sarah Slade of Ruffin, NC, Shelia Ferrell of Danville, VA., Joann Covington of Pelham, NC; one brother, Ricky Yancey of Pelham, NC;  god daughter, Ronda Slade of Yanceyville, NC; close friends, Tom and Sandra Pugh of Ruffin, NC and Ann Holmes of Pelham, NC; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives, friends, and her canine companion, Bear.

A viewing for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Slade " Squeaky" Dixon will be Friday, June 24, 2022 from 4 to 7 pm in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Slade " Squeaky " Dixon will be Saturday, June 25, 2022 12 noon with family arriving at 11:00 AM at Red Hill Baptist Church. Pastor Gregory Hopkins will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
