Mary Lemma Yancey Glenn

Durham, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Mary Lemma Yancey Glenn of 2422 Landis Dr. Durham, NC, who passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 in the Pettigrew Nursing Facility, Durham NC.

Mary was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, born on January 18, 1931 to the late Zibe Yancey and Lucille Nunnally Yancey.

Mary graduated from the Caswell County School System. She furthered her education at the Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, where she received her degree as a Teacher. Prior to Mary’s retirement, she was an employee of the Campbell County Virginia School Systems.

Mary joined Red Hill Baptist Church in Pelham, NC at an early age. Later after moving to Lynchburg VA., she joined and became a member Rivermont Baptist Church.

In addition to Mary’s parents, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie Wilson, Corenta Smith; and Lena Rogers; three brothers, Thomas Yancey, Zibe Yancey, Jr., and David Yancey.

Mrs. Mary Lemma Yancey Glenn leaves to cherish her memories to her: one daughter, Pamela Glenn Revels (Melvin) of Durham, North Carolina; two grandchildren; Lewis and Melanie Revels both of Durham, NC; two sisters, Maggie Jackson of New Jersey, and Bertha Yancey of Lynchburg, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends.

A viewing will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home (PER CDC GUIDELINES:  FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED).

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Lemma Yancey Glenn will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 2:00 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Pastor Gregory Hopkins will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham, NC.
