Yanceyville, NC - It is with great sadness that we announce Mr. Charles Slade 82 of 516 Hodges Dairy Road, in Yanceyville, North Carolina peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 30, 2026, at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia.
Born on April 06, 1943; in Caswell County, North Carolina, Charles was the cherished son of the late William and Margaret Brown Slade.
Charles was educated in the Caswell County Public School system, and he was baptized at Corbett Memorial Baptist Church in Pelham, North Carolina. He was known for his strong work ethics and dedication causing him to pursue his career in the Textile industry. Charles was an employee until his retirement of over 30 years at Cone Mills White Oak Plant in Greensboro, North Carolina. Alongside his career, he was avid farmer who loved the land and outdoors. Charles found joy in the simple pleasures of life-hunting, fishing, gardening, sitting on his porch, sharing laughter and stories with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathleen Watlington Slade, his sister Lillie Mae Slade, and his three brothers James Earl, Willie, and Bedford Slade.
Mr. Charles Slade leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: His four sons James Slade (special friend Melissa Hyler), Joseph Slade (Charmecia) all of Yanceyville, North Carolina, Ron Slade (LaVonda) of Burlington, North Carolina, and George Watlington of Yanceyville, North Carolina; his twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his sister and devoted caregiver Wilma “Kay Slade; his four brothers Otha Slade who was also his devoted caregiver, Raymond Slade, (Judith), Larry Slade (Connie), Darnell Slade (Mary); his aunt Maggie Graves and his sister-in-law Annie Graves Slade all of Yanceyville, North Carolina. He was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, a close friend Ella Stewart of Pelham, North Carolina; and many other cherished friends. His legacy of love, hard work, and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Public viewing for Mr. Charles Slade will be on Tuesday, February 10, 2026; from 2:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Family visitation viewing for Mr. Charles Slade will be on Wednesday, February 11, 2026; from 12:30p.m. to 1:00p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, in Pelham.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charles Slade will be conducted at 1:00pm Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, in Pelham, NC.
Interment will follow at Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in in Pelham, NC.
