Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Charlie Weldon "Lil Charlie" Hightower of 125 Cobb Road, in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina.
Charlie, the son of the late Charlie William Hightower and Ida Evans Hightower, was born on February 10, 1962, in Orange County, North Carolina. He attended the local public schools and later received career training at Job Corps for two years. Afterwards Charlie worked in textile industry and farmed until he became disabled. He was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He cherished his family, and they cherished him right back. Charlie lived to watch the soap operas especially the “Young and the Restless.” He was also a Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers fan.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce Hodnett Hightower and his brother Winfred Evans.
Mr. Charlie Weldon "Lil Charlie" Hightower leaves to cherish his memories with his daughter Kahlia Powell of Gretna, Virginia; his son Antonio Hightower of Schenectady, New York; two bonus sons Kendrall Hunt and Carl Junior Brooks; three sisters Brenda Jones, Linda Hightower both of Yanceyville, North Carolina, and Sheron Hightower of Burlington, North Carolina; his brother Ronald Hightower of Mebane, North Carolina; five aunts Dorothy Slade, and Mabel Hightower both of Reidsville, North Carolina, Daisy Hightower of Brown Summit, North Carolina; Christine Evans of Yanceyville, North Carolina, and Hazel Hightower of Greensboro, North Carolina; his uncle Oscar Daniels of Baltimore, Maryland; his two special friends Bertha Richmond and June Covington both of Yanceyville, North Carolina; his sister-in-law Linda Evans of Mebane, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.
Public viewing for Mr. Charlie Weldon "Lil Charlie" Hightower will be on Sunday, November 02, 2025; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Family visitation viewing for Mr. Charlie Weldon "Lil Charlie" Hightower will be on Monday, November 03, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville, NC.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Weldon "Lil Charlie" Hightower will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, November 03, 2025, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville, NC.
Interment will follow at Providence Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 86 South in Yanceyville, NC.
The family may receive friends at the home 12:00 Noon until 9:00 p.m. daily.
