Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Curtis Jefferies 68 of 3323 Highway 86 North Lot 30 in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at AuthoraCare Collective Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina.
Curtis was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, born July 27, 1957, to the late Enoch Jefferies and Mary Helen Graves Jefferies Murray. He received his education from the local public school system, and Curtis graduated from Bartlett Yancey Senior High School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Afterwards he joined the United States Army where Curtis received honorable discharge and returned to his hometown. He was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church and was a retiree of Dan River Correctional Facility in Yanceyville, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by his three aunts Margaret Garland, Ida Kimber, and Mary Ella J. Graves; his eight uncles John Graves, David Graves, James Graves, Jim Henry, Elisha, Issac Jr., Joe-Nathan, and Elijah Jeffers.
Mr. Curtis Jefferies leaves to cherish his memories with his daughter Breanna M. Jefferies of Burlington, North Carolina; his son Damieon Jefferies of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister Ella Jefferies Pinnix of Burlington, North Carolina; his brother James Lonnell Jefferies (Karla) of Yanceyville, North Carolina; his two aunts Mattie Love of Danville, Virginia, and Katie Holman of Connecticut; his six grandchildren, one niece; three nephews; and a host of other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Curtis Jefferies will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 06, 2026, at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville, NC. Pastor Quinzel Comer, Sr. will deliver the “Words of Comfort.”
An Inurnment Burial will follow in the Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery along with a Military Rites Ceremony.
