Greensboro, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Dubois Wesley Allen, Jr. age 69 who was affectionately known by family and friends as “Buster” of Greensboro, North Carolina. He transitioned from this life on Saturday, April 05, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at AuthoraCare Hospice in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dubois was born to Willie Mae Hicks Allen and the late Dubois Wesley Allen, Sr., on May 10, 1955, in Eden, North Carolina.
He was a 1973 graduate from Morehead Senior High School, in Eden, North Carolina. Dubois has always been one with a strong work ethic, even at an early age he delivered newspapers in the neighborhood and worked at Tuck’s Shoe Clinic.
Subsequently, Dubois proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army 82nd Airborne, where he received an honorable discharge. Later in his career Dubois was employed by Fieldcrest Mills, Duke Power, The City of Greensboro Transit Authority and Recreation Departments, and he retired from ITG Brands (Formally Lorillard Tobacco Company). His favorite past-times were spending time with his family and friends. He also was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina and a former member of the St. James Lodge, #138 PHG.
In addition to his father Dubois was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Johnnie and Elizabeth Allen; Maternal grandparents William and Mary Hicks; his brothers John M. Allen, and Anthony Palmer, Sr.
Mr. Dubois “Buster” Wesley Allen, Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memories, with his son Brenton E. Allen (Codi), and his grand-children, Xavier, Brenton II, Alayna, and Urijah, all of Greensboro, North Carolina; his beloved mother Willie Mae Hicks Allen of Eden, North Carolina; his four brothers Kenneth L. Allen (Karen), Francis Allen, Vincent Allen (Shirley), Preston Allen, all of Eden, North Carolina; his sisters, Anissa Matthew’s (Allen) of Greensboro, North Carolina and Ruth Bonds of Eden, North Carolina; and brothers, Carlos Lester and Marvin Lester both of Eden, North Carolina; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, and cherished friends. A special dear friend who was like a brother, Mr. Eddie Staples..
Family visitation for Mr. Dubois Wesley Allen, Jr. will be on Friday, April 11, 2025; from 3:30p.m. to 4:00p.m. at Fulton-Walton Memorial Eden Chapel; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.
Memorial service for Mr. Dubois Wesley Allen, Jr. will be conducted at 4:00pm on Friday, April 11, 2025; at Fulton-Walton Memorial Eden Chapel; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC. Bishop Dr. J. Rolan Cohen, Sr. is delivering the Words of Comfort.
