Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Jerry Lenzy Oliver of 255 Melvin Wrenn Rd. Yanceyville, NC, who passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Lorenza Oliver and Anna Gertrude Foster Oliver, born May 28, 1945 in Rockingham, Co. NC. He was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, a member of the Willing Worker Missionary Circle and Layman Ministry.
Jerry played softball for the Red Machine team and he loved to bowl and he was a member of the Sportsman Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Johnson Oliver; one brother, Armon Carter Oliver; two sisters, Rev. Lorene Long and Jonia Oliver.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memories are his daughter, Stacey Oliver Moore of Danville, Va. son, Albert Lacy Shaw of Reidsville, NC; ; three brothers, Howard Oliver (HG) of Yanceyville, NC, David Lewis Oliver ( Diane) of Blanch, NC and Rev. Thadias Oliver ( Kyong) of Columbus Ga.; five sisters, Anna Stone of Yanceyville, NC, Lillian Adams ( Jimmie) of Reidsville, NC, Audrey Oliver of Yanceyville, NC, Cathy Seafus of Burlington, NC and Deberal Foster of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

A public viewing and family visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral service to honor Mr. Jerry Lenzy Oliver's life and legacy will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 2:00 pm at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Thadias Oliver eulogist and Rev. Dr. Ramona Joyner , presiding. Interment will follow at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
