Yanceyville, NC - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorenza Roosevelt Johnson, who transitioned from this life to eternal rest on January 13, 2025, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
Born on December 7, 1946, in Almagro Community of Danville, VA, Lorenza was the beloved son of the late Luther Johnson and Helen Graves Johnson. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Mary Ann Watlington Johnson, with whom he shared a loving life filled with faith, family, and service.
Lorenza was a hard-working and skilled individual, dedicating many years to his roles as a mechanic and in the textile industry. He was also a faithful member of Hackberry Baptist Church, where he delighted in singing in the choir, using his voice to glorify God until his health started failing.
In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Watlington; stepdaughter, Regina Ann Watlington; five siblings, Luther Samuel Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Whitt Johnson and Kitty Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory ; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Lorenza’s life was one of faith, dedication, and love for his family and community. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Lorenza Roosevelt Johnson's life will be Sunday, January 26, 2025 4:00 pm in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
