Dayton, OH - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Michael Brandon 61, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Semora, NC, who passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Michael Keith Brandon was born in Semora, North Carolina, on June 18, 1963, to Leona Brandon and the late Jessie Brandon. Michael professed hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Macedonia AME Church in Milton, NC.
He was a 1982 graduate of Bartlett Yancey Senior High School in Yanceyville, NC, and continued his education at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 1986. Michael met and married Lynita Bankston in 1991. They continued to live in Charlotte, NC, until they moved to Dayton, OH, where their only child, Taylor Nicole Brandon, was born.
Michael was admired by his predeceased in-laws, Thomas and Lorraine Bankston, and his brother-in-law, Thomas Bankston III. He was a resident of Dayton, OH, for over thirty years.
Michael was employed by Bonbright Distributors as a Sales Representative. Over his 33 years at Bonbright Distributors, he won many awards, which included brand trips to Hocking Hills and Asheville, NC. He was an active member of the YMCA of Greater Dayton Downtown. He enjoyed pickleball, attending cycling classes, playing basketball, and received the 2025 Volunteer of the Year award. Outside of the gym, he was an avid golfer and an outdoor cyclist. To know Michael was to love him; he always brought a laugh and a good time with him. In his hometown, Semora, he became known as "Brandini" by his friends and high school classmates. Michael was well-respected amongst his community. For example, one Summer, when Michael arrived at the Family Reunion, when he got out of his car, friends and family went wild, waving and calling his name, you would have thought the President had arrived.
