Blanch, NC – It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Timothy George of 3642 Highway 86 N. Yanceyville, North Carolina, who passed away, December 22,2024 at Sovah Health Hospital in Danville, Va.
He was a native of Craven County, NC and the son of the late Nathaniel George and Mattie Frazier George, born September 26,1951. He was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School Class of 1971.
He was an independent owner and operator of George Trucking and Grading. He also worked for Burlington Industries and Sonoco for many years prior to retirement. He loved the Yanceyville community and would navigate between his home in Yanceyville and Havelock, NC.
He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Providence, NC and he later joined Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville, NC.
Timothy loved to joke around, work outside, and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by, eight brothers; Clyde, Clark, Donza, Elijah, George, Haywood, Hillman, William George; four sisters; Alene Russell, Robena George, Pearl Hinton and Perfonia George.
His survivors; stepson, Rodney Holman; stepdaughters; Lanelle Holman and Leslie Hawkins; three sisters, Addie Currie of Leasburg, NC, Dorothy Totten of Blanch, NC and Irma Johnson (Jessie) of Beaufort, NC; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; special friends, Rodney Dickerson, Shane Harris, Raymond "Bean" Lea and Barbara Willis; other relatives and a host of friends.
A viewing for Mr. Timmy George will be Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral service for Mr. Timmy George will be Monday, December 30, 2024 2:00 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Entombment will be in the George Family Cemetery, Havelock, NC.
