Mr. Walter Edward Harris

Danville, VA - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Walter Edward Harris 55 of 6235 Badgett Sisters Parkway in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia.

Walter, the beloved son of Pattie May Harris Turner was born on April 14, 1971; in Patterson, New Jersey. He was lovingly raised by his late stepfather David Turner.

He attended the local public schools and Gretna High School in Gretna, Virginia. Being skilled and talented in the construction industry, Walter was a state employee for the Department of Transportation (DOT). He was responsible for working and improving the safety, innovation, and reliability of our roadways, highways, and bridges. Walter was also a member of Pearson Chapel AME Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina. In his leisure Walter was a die-hard fan of the New England Patriots football team, and he enjoyed gaming or playing on his play station.

Mr. Walter Edward Harris leaves to cherish his memories with his son Tony Holloway (Shada) of Danville, Virginia; his mother Pattie May Harris Turner of Yanceyville, North Carolina; his two sisters Sonya Murphy (Patrick) of Dry Fork, Virginia, and Jequetta Woody of Yanceyville, North Carolina; his brother Jack Starling, Jr. of Chatham, Virginia; and his five grandchildren; his aunt Mary Ann Powell of Roanoke, Virginia; his four uncles Thomas Harris (Reverend Teresa) of Sandy Level, Virginia, Haywood Harris, Robert Harris, and Joe Lewis Harris all of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.

A public viewing for Mr. Walter Edward Harris will be on Monday, June 01, 2026; from 2:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Funeral Services for Mr. Walter Edward Harris will be conducted at 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 02, 2026; in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Pastor Teresa Harris will deliver the "Words of Comfort."
