Mr. Warren Milton Hairston

Eden, NC- Mr. Warren Milton Hairston, 81, of Eden, North Carolina, peacefully departed this life on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Home in Eden, North Carolina.

He was born on December 6, 1943, to the late Kelsie Hairston and the late Ellen Golden Hairston in Eden, NC.

Warren was a graduate of Douglas High School. After High School, Warren went into Army and was a Vietnam Vet. Warren always made it known the time he served. He would often say he served, 23 years, 6 months, 48 days and 2 seconds. He was very outgoing, fun loving, a comedian and caring for others. When he was faced with life’s challenges or obstacles, he would always say, “ Oh don’t worry about it! Everything will work out!” He never met a stranger. If you were ever in his presence you were guaranteed to laugh until your stomach hurt. 

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Andrea D. Hairston; two brothers, Lewis Golden and Dallas Hairston; three sisters, Audrey Claiborne, Thelma King and Lilly McRae. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherri Hairston of the home; his two daughters, Nichole Hairston-Purvis (Dellano) of Suffolk, Virginia and Debra Nelson (Gerard Sr.) of Stafford, Virginia; a stepdaughter Shanise Starks and a stepson Devin Woody both of the home; one brother, Alvin Hairston (Roxetta) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one sister, Alma Neal of Eden, NC; grandchildren, nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Warren was an exemplary husband and father. He was always placing the needs of his family before himself.  He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A public viewing for Mr. Warren Milton Hairston will be Friday, August 1,, 2025; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel, 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.

Funeral services for Mr. Warren Milton Hairston will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel, 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.

Interment will follow in the Eden Garden Cemetery with military rites by Martinsville & Henry County Veteran Honor Guard.
