Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announced the death of Mr. Wayne Arthur Clayborne of 10336 Hwy. 62 N. Milton, NC, who passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in the UNC Hospital Chapel Hill, NC.
He was the son of late James Edward Clayborne and Helen Garland Clayborne, born March 3, 1956, in Caswell County, North Carolina.
Wayne attended Kingdom of Christ Fellowship Church in Greensboro, NC, and was an employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Danville, Va., before retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Arthur and Lula McCain Standfield; two sisters, Helen Fuller and Clarissa Jones; one brother Perry Claiborne and one adopted brother Arthur (Lil Junie) Standfield Jr.
His survivors are wife, Brenda Jeffers Clayborne of the home; one son, Carlius Clayborne; three daughters, Wendy Clayborne of Brown Summit, NC, Kierra C. Ferrell (Keith Jr.) of Graham, NC and DeMia Jeffers of Milton, NC; ; one granddaughter, DeCaria Clayborne of Danville, Va.; one great granddaughter, Nalaya Clayborne of Danville, Va.; four sisters, Ella Keith (Anson) of Greensboro, NC, Mary Clayborn, Gayle Lester, and Angelia Fountain all of Danville, Va.;; two brothers, Edward Claiborne (Melissa) of Danville, Va., Kenneth Clayborne of Milton, NC; one adopted brother, Tony Standfield (Wanda) of Danville, Va.; two adopted sisters, Doris Standfield of Richmond, Va and Erica Standfield Brandon of Reidsville, NC; brother-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be Monday, November 11, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral Service for Mr. Wayne Arthur Clayborne will be Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 12Noon at New Hope Apostolic Church 166 New St. Danville, Va. with the family arriving at 11:30 am. Bishop John Thompson will deliver the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the Highland Burial Park Danville, Va.
The family will receive visitors at the home 10336 Hwy. 62 N. Milton, NC 27305 from 10 am to 8 pm daily.
