Mr. William Louis Wall Obituary

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. William Louis Wall of 163 Melvin Wrenn Road, Yanceyville, North Carolina. He passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia.

William was the son of the late James Wall and Mary Brown Wall, born on October 29, 1931, in Rockingham County, North Carolina.

As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, where he attended the local public schools. William married the love of his life, the late beloved Gracie Graves Wall. Being the provider that he was William was a truck driver for AD Swann Trucking Company for twenty-one years in Yanceyville, North Carolina. He was later a machine operator for both Cones Mills in Reidsville, North Carolina, and Copeland Fabrics in Burlington, North Carolina. He was also a member of Sweet Gum Missionary Baptist Church in Mebane, North Carolina.

His favorite pastimes were working on cars, watching the westerns, being a taxi driver for those who needed a way back and forth to work. His favorite quote was “It’s Hammer Time.”

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, William went to join his siblings who preceded him in death including his sister Louvella Swann; and his two brothers James Henry Wall, and Lemmie Wall.

Mr. William Louis Wall is the last of his legacy and the years of his cherished memories will forever be in the hearts of his three beloved daughters Mary Abbott (Leroy) of Kernersville, North Carolina, JoAnn Poteat (Ulysses) of Yanceyville, North Carolina, and Clara Gray of Bossier, Louisiana; his five beloved grandchildren Eric, Chinita, Marcia, Samantha, and LaQuientta; his ten great-grand-children Brandon, Alexis, Niyobe, Ciree, Erica, Jaime, Marianna; Xavier, and John IV; his three great-great-grandchildren Jamison, Ava, and Kaydence; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.

Public viewing for Mr. William Louis Wall will be on Tuesday, September 23, 2025; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. William Louis Wall will be conducted Wednesday, September 24, 2025; at 1:00p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Sweet Gum Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mebane, NC.
