Danville, VA - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Woodroe Oliver of 850 Luna Lake Road in Danville, Virginia. He passed away on Wednesday, October 08, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dodson, North Carolina.
Woodroe, born July 13, 1942, in Yanceyville, North Carolina, was the son of the late Wilson Oliver and Delia McCadden Oliver.
Woodroe was a watchman with the Department of Public Works in Mt. Vernon, New York prior to his retirement.
Upon returning to North Carolina, Woodroe joined Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church in Yanceyville.
In addition to his parents, Woodroe was preceded in death by his three brothers Langston Oliver, Ray Oliver, and Doug Oliver.
Mr. Woodroe Oliver leaves to cherish his memories with his beloved wife Mary Wilda Gwynn Oliver of the home; his two daughters Angela Jeffries of Washington, DC, and Keisha Williams of Snellville, GA; and his caring son Cavartus Oliver (Desiree) of Jamestown, NC; two step-sisters Tina Williams (Jeff) of Danville, VA, and Mildred Oliver of Martinsville, VA; and one step-brother Darrell Oliver (Carolyn) of Greensboro, NC; his sister-in-law Linda Hairston; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.
The family is receiving guests at his residence 850 Luna Lake Road, Danville, Virginia.
Mr. Woodroe Oliver's public viewing is on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Mr. Woodroe Oliver's Funeral Service will take place at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, in Yanceyville, NC.
Interment will follow at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Yanceyville, NC.
